Website Status Checker
Enter a website address to test whether it responds from your browser. This is a useful first check before you blame your own connection, a hosting provider, or a domain setting.
Honest limits: A browser page cannot freely fetch arbitrary websites. Most sites block cross-origin reads, so this tool can only report what your browser actually observed: a successful response, an opaque network response with the status hidden, or a blocked or failed request. It never invents an up or down verdict when the browser cannot see the status.
Result will appear here.
How to use
- Enter the full website address, starting with https://.
- Press Check status and wait for the browser result.
- Read the outcome exactly as reported: observed status, opaque response, or failed request.
- If the result is opaque or blocked, open the site directly to confirm.
Frequently asked questions
Why does it say opaque response?
An opaque response means the network request completed but the browser hides the status and headers for security. The tool reports that honestly instead of guessing.
Does a failed check mean the site is down?
No. It can also mean your network failed, the browser blocked the request, or the site blocks cross-origin fetches. Confirm by visiting the site directly.
Can this check a site behind a login?
No. It checks public reachability from your browser only and cannot log in or see private pages.
Is this the same as a server monitoring service?
No. A server monitor checks from its own servers around the clock. This is a quick browser check from your device only.
